NCC Ist Sikkim Girls Battalion office

NCC Ist Sikkim Girls Battalion office has been given space by the College administration inside the College campus.
The NSS wing of the College is also very actively involved in conducting various social activities and in organizing
health campaigns, blood donation camps, Aids awareness programmes and plantation drive inside the college.
The NCC and NSS wing of the College also helps during natural disasters by providing relief materials.

Internet connection and WI-FI

Internet connection through WI-FI and LAN with data centre has been provided in the College Campus to facilitate learning for the students as well as the faculty members.

Surveillance by CCTV

Surveillance has been upgraded with CCTV cameras installed at strategic locations in the College. The Principal has access to all the CCTV cameras and monitors the college activities to promote efficiency. This Hi- Tech Surveillance system has also been fruitful in maintaining security in the campus

Smart Classrooms

Smart Classrooms: To increase the imagination of the students and to utilize the power of picture to communicate effectively with students Smart classroom has been established. The class is also utilized by various departments to help students in understanding the course materials by exposing them to documentaries and movies relevant to the course materials.

ICT resources

All the Departments have been provided with LCD projectors and Computer facilities for the benefit of Students and faculty. The LCDs are used in classroom for teaching, Power Point presentations and for Research papers to be presented in conferences, Seminars and Workshops. The Smart Classroom has a digitlised LCD projector. The college also has a Computer centre with six computers for guiding the students which is also a part of the syllabus of Mathematics and Commerce. The Library extends Computers with Internet facility. All the sections of the Office (administration, examination, admission, accounts) have been provided with Computer facilities.

Hostel Facility

Hostel Facility – Hostel accommodation is available for both boys and girls within the college campus. The capacity of the Boys’ hostel is 72 and has 72.22 % occupancy. The College also has a Girls’ Hostel in the campus with the capacity of 60 Students. Additional Boys and Girls Hostel are under construction.
The Hostels have recreational rooms with Television facilities, carom and Table Tennis. A small library has just been introduced in the Boys Hostel. First- aid kits are available in both the Hostels. College vehicle is available to transport six students to the hospital- Manipal Central referral Hospital and Sir Thutup Namgyal Governemnt Hospital (STNM). The Hostel wardens are provided with residential facility in both the hostels. Mess hall and necessary amenities such as purified drinking water, wash rooms, hot water are also available at botht he hostels. Security guards are posted at the gate of the hostel 24×7.

Outdoors and Indoor Games

Sports, Outdoors and Indoor Games: One large sized playground, Badminton and Volley ball court. Indoor games include one TT board, Chess and Carom. Multi- purpose Gymnasium: The construction work of a Multi- purpose gymnasium and hobby centre is in the final phases and is expected to be completed within two months time. The college provides the required sports equipment to the students and always encourages students to participate in inter-college sports tournaments under the National integration programme as well as the North East sports festivals by providing TA/DA and refreshments.


Classroom: The College has 31 spacious classrooms with proper lighting and ventilation which are also used for tutorial/ remedial classes; ICT enabled Smart classroom, laboratories, 3 Research laboratories and equipments for teaching-learning and research. The College also has a Bio Tech Hub established in the Department of Zoology under DBT, New Delhi.

Computer Lab

Computer Laboratory: A computer laboratory has been established in the College where computer classes for the Department of Commerce and Mathematics are held. The laboratory is also open to all the students to facilitate computer aided teaching.

Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics

In 2013, Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA) has provided the state facility of IUCAA Node for Astronomy and Astrophysics Development (INAAD) centre in the department of Physics. Two departments namely, department of Chemistry and department of Botany were recognized as research centres by the University of North Bengal (NBU), West Bengal. The department of Botany was recognizing as research centre by NBU till 2011. Department of Chemistry still has this recognition by NBU. So far many faculties of this institute and students have completed their doctoral research under this recognition.

Institutional Level Biotech Hub (IBThub)

Institutional Level Biotech Hub (IBThub): Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India supported Rs 26.5 lakhs as first installment to establish “Institutional Level Biotech Hubs (IBThub)” for in-campus training of students, teachers and for conducting workshop.

Departmental research laboratories

Well equipped Departmental research laboratories with instruments worth rupees 75 lakhs in the departments of Botany, Physics and Zoology. Department of Science and Technology, The College has well developed laboratories in the departments of Physics, Zoology and Botany.


The Central library is well equipped with acess to e consortium of UGC/INFLIBNET and has more than 17000 books
such as Reference books, Year books, Periodicals, magazines and encyclopedias for students as well as faculty.
The Library is automated and subscribes some peer reviewed Journals for the researchers.

Seminar Hall

Seminar Halls: The College has one Seminar hall and the Auditorium of the College is also used for conducting Seminars, Workshops and Conferences as well as for cultural activities.
